Dunedin Public Art Gallery
Established in 1884, Dunedin Public Art Gallery is the oldest public gallery in the country and has a collection that includes both historical and contemporary works and spans more than 600 years. It is a department of the Dunedin City Council.
We now seek applications for the position of Director.
This is an important visual arts leadership role, and the new Director will have a vision for Dunedin Public Art Gallery that builds on its reputation as one of New Zealand’s leading galleries making a significant contribution to the country’s cultural capital.
To be successful in this role you will have senior leadership experience within an art gallery or museum, a track record managing visual art exhibitions, wide knowledge of visual arts and established networks. You will have appropriate academic qualifications. You will also have a commitment to understanding and meeting the expectations of audiences, and to working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve excellent outcomes for the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and the Dunedin City Council.
