Education Assistant

Museums Wellington, part of the Wellington Museums Trust, is seeking an enthusiastic part-time Education Assistant to work with the Education Coordinator to develop and deliver high quality learning programmes across four sites: the Museum of Wellington City and Sea, the Cable Car Museum, the Colonial Cottage Museum and Te Aro Pa.

You will have a good knowledge of current educational techniques and the curriculum plus the ability to develop innovative and interesting programmes that will create interest from teachers, satisfy student learning outcomes and attract repeat visits. The position is funded through the Ministry of Education’s Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom Programme (LEOTC) and you will assist in making bookings, gathering statistics and compiling reports related to delivery and assessment of the program.

Experience and Visitor Services Assistant

Museums Wellington, part of the Wellington Museums Trust, is seeking a committed Visitor Services professional to oversee the delivery of a high quality visitor experience at the Colonial Cottage Museum. The position is based at The Museum of Wellington City and Sea with two days a week at the Cottage or as needed. In addition to work at the Cottage, you will assist in the delivery of Museums Wellington visitor and education programmes. You will have a demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide range of visitors, an ability to develop innovative and interesting experiences and an understanding of the Museums Wellington approach and requirements.

Administrative and computer skills are necessary to assist with bookings and compile reports.
