Rotorua Museum of Art and History is looking to appoint an outstanding museum professional to the key role of Deputy Director.
Located in the historic Bathhouse building, Rotorua Museum enjoys a very high visitation and is considered a “must see” attraction for international visitors to the city. A recent $23 million redevelopment has resulted in numerous new exhibition spaces, plus greatly enhanced back-of-house facilities.
The Deputy Director will provide professional leadership to the Collections, Exhibitions and Public Programmes teams, as well as influence across the organisation. The successful candidate will have at least five years experience at a senior level in a museum or gallery environment, possess excellent project management skills and have extensive networks within the NZ museum and gallery sector.
This is a rare opportunity for a talented and experienced museum professional to make a difference in a dynamic and high profile museum and art gallery, with potential for continued professional development. We offer a stimulating and supportive workplace and the chance to work in one of New Zealand’s most important historic buildings.
